Automotive Paint Booth Heaters with Spray/Flash/Cure, Variable Air Volume, Booth Pressure Auto Balance
Updated July 2026
An automotive paint booth heater (air makeup unit) supplies heated, filtered replacement air to a booth for spray, flash, and cure cycles — speeding dry times while keeping the booth balanced and code-compliant. AEI Paint Booths builds automotive booth heaters with Variable Air Volume (VAV) control, automatic booth pressure balancing, and heat-and-cure modes for both solvent and water-based paints, built to meet NFPA 33 and OSHA. Serving collision shops and dealers across North America since 2003.
Paint Booth Heaters:
We provide paint booth heaters and air replacement systems for any application. We provide makeup air systems with heat and cure modes, paint booth humidity control, building air makeup and replacement air systems, automated building pressure control systems, and more.
Building Air Replacement:
Paint booths, and perhaps other equipment in your facility, exhaust air out of the building. This creates negative pressure in the building. An air replacement system brings air in from outside the building to maintain an even balanced pressure inside of the building.
Paint Booth Humidity Control:
Paint booth humidity control systems can be helpful for achieving optimal paint application and drying. Ideal humidity levels help prevent issues like premature drying, pigment clumping, and electrostatic build-up, especially when using water-based paints.
Heat and Cure Makeup Air Units:
Our paint booth heaters with heat and cure systems are designed to help you move your work through the process as quickly as possible. We offer a basic heat and cure system and another system with heat, flash, and cure modes. The flash mode allows you to dry the paint between coats. Works great for both solvent and water based paints.
Our units are the best value in the industry. Our systems work with any spray booth. 2,000 CFM to 102,000 CFM, we can provide a system for your application. Vertical ground mounted units with stands or roof mounted units with roof curbs.
Our standard heat and cure system features include a Variable Air Volume System (VAV) and Automatic Booth Pressure Balancing System (AB) with programmable Spray, Flash, and Cure Cycles.

Variable Air Volume - VAV:
The variable air volume control systems give you precise control over the air flow when you are painting, flashing, and curing. This allows you to adjust for solvent base or water base paints, different sized pieces of work, and different outside air conditions like -10° F and 5% humidity or +95° F and 85% humidity.
We offer the ability to flash and cure at 100% airflow and high temperatures. We can provide 100% airflow and a 110° F temperature rise over the outside air temperature. 20° F outside our system can provide 100% airflow at 130° F. This system allows you to control how much air is used by the air make-up unit allowing you to control operational costs as well. System includes Variable Frequency Drives for both intake and exhaust volume control. Includes Programmable Digital Control Panel.
Auto Pressure Balance - AB:
The Automatic Balancing System speeds up or slows down the exhaust fan to keep the pressure balanced in the booth and the airflow at a proper speed. Set the pressure desired in the booth and the system will automatically adjust the speed of the exhaust fan to maintain the desired preset pressure. This system also speeds up the exhaust fan as the exhaust filters load up with overspray allowing longer times between filter changes.
